Felice Casorati
Exhibition curated by Giorgina Bertolino, Daniela Ferrari, Stefano Roffi, open at the Fondazione Magnani Rocca in Mamiano di Traversetolo (Parma).
Two canvases by Felice Casorati temporarily leave the Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Rome to join the over sixty works by Felice Casorati that, from his beginnings to his maturity, narrate the Piedmontese artist's artistic parabola: Albergo di provincia (1927, inv. AM 495) and Susanna or Platonic Conversation (1929, inv. AM 794).
The relationship that runs through the entire exhibition, that between painting and music, is also to be found in the details of these two paintings (the lyre-shaped backrest behind the table in Albergo di provincia, the mandola positioned on the chair in Susanna), significantly recalling the musical sensibility that characterised Casorati's biography, culture and painting.
