Uno storytelling sui corpi e volti di donne
In the context of International Women's Rights Day, a special tour of the Galleria d'Arte Moderna is organised, involving the entire museum and the 'women' exhibited in it.
Starting from the collection of 19th-20th century bronzes and marbles in the Chiostro delle sculture ( 15:30 / curated by DANIELA VASTA and GIADA CRISTIANO), with extraordinary women from history and myth, such as Cleopatra, Galatea, Afrodite and the enigmatic female characters in the bronzes by Rivalta, Bertolino, Marini and Manzù. Moving on to the women in the exhibition Pasolini pittore (h 16:30 / curated by CLAUDIO CRESCENTINI). His mother Susanna Colussi, his poet friend Giovanna Bemporad and the muses of his cinema, Laura Betti and Maria Callas. A journey through the portraits of the female figures who traversed Pasolini's existential and artistic world. Ending with a look at the theme of women who choose Rome as their inspirational muse (h 17:30 / curated by LIANA MIUCCIO - in Italian and English). Their relationship with the city, society and customs through the photos and a video by Miuccio herself on display in the Visual Diary exhibition, the words of the writer JHUMPA LAHIRI (Pulitzer Prize for fiction 1999), which form an integral narrative path in the same photographic exhibition, and the poems of Giuliana Mammucari.
The visits are accompanied by a LIS interpreter; the translation into Italian Sign Language-LIS is realised thanks to the collaboration of the Department of Social Policies and Health (Personal Services Department) and the non-profit social cooperative Segni di Integrazione - Lazio.
