Materia Nova. Roma nuove generazioni a confronto
Materia Nova. Roma nuove generazioni a confronto is an experimental exhibition project that has developed over time around a critical survey of contemporary art in Rome.
The new realities of tomorrow's art: CASTRO (Contemporary Art STudios Roma); CONDOTTO48; OFF1C1NA; OMBRELLONI; PAESE FORTUNA; POST EX; SPAZIOMENSA; SPAZIO IN SITU.
The exhibition dwells on the different realities that have sprung up in the various districts of the city, where some artists have set up their ateliers, often in former industrial areas, buildings and disused workshops, which have thus been transformed into new production centres, drivers of ideas and hubs of proposals that are bringing the capital back to the centre of the national cultural scene.
A section of the exhibition is also devoted to a selection of images from the photographic book Vera (Quodlibet), designed by Damiana Leoni, which documents all the artistic realities on show through shots of the creative spaces taken by four young photographers: Eleonora Pecorella, Salvatore Emanuele, Marta Scotti and Mohamed Keita.
All the works, site-specific performances will be documented in a catalogue published by Manfredi editore and containing essays by: Valeria Corazza, Claudio Crescentini; Patrizio Di Nezio, Maria Vittoria Marini Clarelli, Massimo Mininni, Paola Rossi, Elena Stancanelli, Paola Ugolini and Daniela Vasta.
